Cogitativo

Privacy policy

What this website collects, why, and the choices you have. Last updated October 13, 2026.

Who we are

This website is run by Cogitativo, Inc., 2001 Addison Street, Suite 300, Berkeley, CA 94710. For privacy or security questions, email security@cogitativo.com or call (510) 761-7420.

When you contact us

The contact form asks for your name, your work email and, if you choose, a message. We send what you enter to our team by email so a person can reply. We keep it as long as we need to respond and for our business records. We don’t sell it, and we don’t use it for advertising.

Please don’t include patient information or other sensitive data.

Google Analytics, only if you accept

We use Google Analytics to see which pages people use, so we can improve the site. It runs only if you click Accept on the cookie banner. Until then, nothing is sent to Google.

If you accept, Google Analytics records the pages you visit, the links and PDFs you click, how far you scroll, whether you send the contact form (not what you write), how you reached the site, your approximate location, your device and browser type, and a random ID stored in cookies. Google Analytics doesn’t log or store IP addresses.

Google signals and advertising features are off, and so are Google’s data-sharing settings, so Google uses this data only to provide the Analytics service to us. Google deletes the detailed data after 14 months; summary reports are kept. Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Cookies and browser storage

Unless you accept analytics, this site sets no cookies. It saves one item in your browser to remember your choice.

  • cogitativo-consent Saved in your browser’s local storage when you choose. Remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics for 180 days, then we ask again.
  • _ga Google Analytics cookie, set only after you accept. Tells visitors apart with a random ID. Expires 180 days after your last visit.
  • _ga_<container-id> Google Analytics cookie, set only after you accept. Keeps track of your current visit. Expires 180 days after your last visit.

Your choices

You can change your mind at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. If you withdraw consent, we turn Google Analytics off and delete its cookies.

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a refusal: you won’t see the banner, and Google Analytics won’t run unless you turn it on in Cookie settings.

A Do Not Track signal doesn’t change how the site works, because nothing tracks you unless you click Accept: you’ll see the banner and choose like everyone else.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser’s settings.

Other companies

Microsoft hosts this website and our email. It processes technical information, such as your IP address, to deliver the site and keep it secure. Google provides Google Analytics, which runs only if you accept.

Apart from Google Analytics when you accept it, we don’t let other companies collect information about your activity on this site. We don’t sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

California residents

We don’t sell or share personal information as California law defines those terms, and we honor the Global Privacy Control signal. You can ask what personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing security@cogitativo.com. We won’t treat you differently for asking.

Children

This website is for organizations. It isn’t directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we’ll post the new version here and update the date at the top.
